4mm Backer Board designed specifically to provide a strong, level and extremely firm surface - ideal for tiling, can be used over Wundatherm heating boards if desired. Providing an intermediate layer these tile backer boards should be bonded in place using Mapei S955 adhesive. When fitting carpets/vinyl as a final floor finish onto Overfloor heating boards we would recommend a light renovation screed or fixing a ply deck before carpeting rather than our backer board. Flexible and easy to handle - simply cut the board to shape where necessary. It can be dry fitted as a floating surface with taped joints or alternatively bonded directly to the floor heating panels. Backer boards are manufactured from polyester fibres and synthetic resin.
